Term 1 Week 8

On Tuesday there was an enviro trip for schools. I don't what the name of the place we went though but I was invited to go because I have green fingers and was an enviro person. (That's what I was told.) The trip was really fun and tiring. We were in groups. There were 4 schools that came. (Not the whole school.) I was the photographer and took so many pictures and videos, I had to use the class camera from my class. The activity that I remember were going into a maze to find answers, filling in some words in a sentence about snapper, talking about a few birds, and going on a small bush walk. This was really fun but it took most of my class time which I wasn't really happy about because I mist out on doing quite a lot but that's alright, I really enjoyed this and I'm happy it only happens once a year.

Term 1 Week 7

From my last weekly post I wrote about a book I've been reading during SSR and I found out a lot more about the story and the charterers in it. Joe has the worst case in handwriting, he always has his 'e's backwards and writes no where near the lines. I have found a few words that I have never seen before and don't know what they mean.

In the new chapter I have recently been reading lots of things happen Joe sounds out words like 'D-O-G' and 'C-A-T' when he reads about camels at school. Sadly he crossed it out and wrote good above it. ''Why did you do that?'' Howard asked.''I always end up having to use the easy words that I get right.'' he says (To be continued.)

Term 1 Week 6

I have been reading a book called 'Anne Fine-Children's Laureate-How To Write Really Badly'. (I don't really understand the title.) I have been falling into this book at SSR witch stands for 'silent sustained reading'. This book is about a boy T Howard that has moved schools more times then you've watched Seasame Street. When the story starts he is at a new school and his teachers name is Miss Tate, it's his first day at this school and he gets to sit next to someone called Joe. Howard asked a lot of questions to Joe and Howard becomes whiteboard monitor because Joe made a mini speech to the teacher about it. I can't tell you much more until next week because I haven't read much but I will tell you on my next weekly post.

Term 1 Week 5

Term 1 Week 5

This week we were learning about blue whales. We had to complete 6 tasks in one week. I buddied up with a year 4 along with the rest of the Year 5's. I completed no tasks on the first day of the investigation school but started 3. When I got home I got on the computer and finished 2 of the tasks and started a new one. The tasks I completed the first day was the A-Z challenge where we had to think of words that start with every letter of the alphabet and that relates to the big blue whale and the other one was when I had to type a little paragraph that included 10 facts about the blue whale. It was really fun and hard. I don't think we could get even 6 done before the week ends. I hope we can get at least 6, better yet all 12! This week was really fun especially with the some of the best teachers in the school. I hope we can do another activity like this sometime again because it was so fun and I got a really good partner.
